What is virus? VIRUS V.S VIROID

Image
What is viruses  All of us who have suffered the ill effects of common cold or "flu" know what effects viruses can have on us, even if do not associate it with our condition. Viruses did not find place in classification since they are not considered truly 'living' if we understand living as those organism that have a cell structure. The virus are non cellular organism that are characterised by haveing an inest   crytalline struture outside of living cell.      Once they infect a cell they take over the machinery of host cell to replicate themselves, killing the host. No virus contain both RNA DNA. A virus is a nucleoprotein and the genetic material is infectious. Virus that infect plant have single stranded RNA and virus that infect animal have either single or double RNA or double DNA.           Viruses cause diseases like mumps, small pox, herpes, and influnza. AIDS in human also cause by virus. VIROIDS     In 1971, T.O. Diener discovered a new infectious agent th

Types of algae?

Image
The member of cholophyceae are commenly called green algae. The plant body may be unicellular, colonial or filamentous. They are useually grass green due to dominance of pigment chorophyll  a  and  b . The pigment are locolised in definite choroplasts. The choroplast may be discoid, plate-like, reticulate, cup-shaped, spiral or ribbon-shaped in differnt species. Most of the members one or more storage bodies called pyrenoids located in the chloroplast. Pyrenoids contain protein besides strach. Some algae may store food in the form of oil droplets. Green algae useually have a regit cell wall made od inner iayer of cellous and an outer layerr of pectose. Vegrtative reprodution useually takes place by fragemention of by formetion of differnt of spores. Asexual reprodution is by flagellated zoospores produced in zoosporengia. The sexual reprodution show considerable variation in types and formation of sex calls and t may be isogamous, anisogamous or oogamous. Some commely found

What is algae   ? =>Algae are chorophyll - bearing , thalloid , autotropic and largely aquatic [ both fresh water and marine ]. They occer in varity of other habitatis : stones, soils and wood. Some of them also occur in association with fungi [linchen] and animals.          The form and size of algae is highly variable , ranging from colonial forms like Volvox  and the filamentous forms like ulothrix  and spirogya  . A few of marine forms such as kelps  , from massive plant bodies.    The algae repoduce by vegetative , asexual and sexual meth9od . Vegetative reprodution is by fragmentation. Each fragment develops into a thalls. Asexual reprodution is by the prodution of differnt types of spores , the most commen being the zoospores.  They are f;agellated [motile] and on germination gives rise to new plant. Sexual reprodution takes place through fusion of gamets. These gametes can be flagellated and similar in size [as in ulothrix] or non flagellated {non motile} but s

What is biology

What is biology ? = Biology is study about life and living world. the study of living organisms, divided into many specialized fields that cover their morphology, physiology, anatomy, behaviour, origin, and distribution. the plants and animals of a particular area. "the biology of the Chesapeake Bay" the physiology, behaviour, and other qualities of a particular organism or class of organisms. Biology is the natural science that studies life and living organisms, including their physical structure, chemical processes, molecular interactions, physiological mechanisms, development and evolution. Despite the complexity of the science, certain unifying concepts consolidate it into a single, coherent field. what is biology Follow me on  altaf__ahmed Ask questions in my mail altafbabaaml@gmail.com
